Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation

Healing isn't completed in the operating theatre; it happens in the weeks that follow. Physiotherapy significantly improves quality of life for pets recovering from orthopedic surgery, living with joint conditions, or slowing down with age.

We build a goal-oriented rehabilitation program for every patient and track progress with regular check-ups. We'll also teach you exercises to do at home.

Who benefits most?

Dogs recovering from cruciate ligament surgery or fractures, patients with chronic joint conditions like hip dysplasia or arthritis, pets whose joints are strained by excess weight, and senior animals losing mobility benefit the most from physiotherapy.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions will my pet need?

It varies: post-operative programs usually run several weeks, while chronic joint conditions benefit from ongoing maintenance programs at regular intervals.

Which signs suggest my pet could benefit?

Struggling with stairs or the sofa, stiffness when getting up, less interest in walks, not using a leg after surgery and visible muscle loss are the most common signs. We'll find the cause at the exam and build the right program.

Do cats get physiotherapy too?

Yes. Joint disease is very common in older cats but usually written off as 'just getting old'. With short, low-stress, cat-specific sessions we can noticeably improve comfort and mobility.

What can I do at home between sessions?

A big part of the program runs at home: vet-approved exercises, weight management, non-slip flooring and ramps. We teach everything hands-on and send you home with a written plan.

Is physiotherapy painful?

No — the goal is to reduce pain, not add to it. Sessions are graded to your pet's tolerance and run alongside proper pain management when needed.
