Wellness Exams & Check-ups

Pets are masters at hiding pain and illness — it's in their nature. That's why many conditions are only noticed once they've progressed. Regular wellness exams let us catch problems while they're still easy to treat.

During an exam we work systematically: overall condition, heart and lung sounds, mouth and dental health, skin, coat, eyes and ears. When needed, we clarify the picture with in-house laboratory tests.

How often does my pet need an exam?

For healthy adult cats and dogs we recommend at least one wellness exam per year. For pets over 7, twice a year — because the likelihood of kidney, liver, heart and joint issues increases with age.

Puppies and kittens see us frequently during their vaccination period anyway — those visits double as close developmental check-ups.

What's included in a check-up?

Depending on age and breed, a check-up may include a complete blood count, biochemistry panel, stool and urine analysis alongside the physical exam. That way we make sure your outwardly healthy friend is just as healthy on the inside.

Frequently asked questions

What should I bring to the appointment?

Vaccination records and any previous test results help a lot. A closed carrier for cats and a leash for dogs is all you need otherwise.

My cat lives indoors — does she still need check-ups?

Yes. Indoor cats commonly develop kidney disease, dental problems, obesity and thyroid issues. Staying indoors reduces infectious risks but doesn't prevent internal disease.
